Mark Herzlich
Director of Athletic Ministries
Mark Herzlich brings a unique blend of elite athletic experience, strong leadership, and deep spiritual conviction to First Baptist Academy. A former NFL linebacker and Super Bowl champion, Mark played seven seasons with the New York Giants after an All-American career at Boston College, where he overcame a life-threatening battle with bone cancer to return to the field and inspire athletes across the nation.
Before joining FBA, Mark served as a college football analyst for ESPN and held the role of Director of Team Freedom at International Justice Mission, mobilizing professional athletes to combat human trafficking. Throughout his career, he has been a powerful advocate for justice, faith-based leadership, and character development.
At FBA, Mark serves as the Director of Athletic Ministries, where he leads the vision for Christ-centered athletics, mentors coaches and students, and integrates spiritual formation into every aspect of the athletic experience. Mark is passionate about developing strong, resilient, God-honoring young men and women both on and off the field. He is thrilled to invest in the lives of our student-athletes and to help shape a program where excellence and faith walk hand in hand.
