Winter Fine Arts Footnotes….

for FBA Parents and Patrons of the Arts

It’s hard to believe we are already wrapping up the second quarter of school. The Fine Arts faculty has enjoyed seeing students develop & use their gifts and talents as redemptive tools to reveal God to mankind. FBA is committed to providing an environment where creative opportunities abound and students thrive. Educational research supports the biblical mandate for the inclusion of the arts in education and culture. Through Music, Art and Drama we’re equipping the next generation of student leaders for Kingdom service.

Music Notes: MS and HS Band, Choir, and Strings students joined forces to provide an excellent concert to kick off the Christmas season. It was a joy to see so many friends and family members come out for the event.

“Java Jam”, is a student organized coffee house annual event featuring MS & HS students & teachers. The FBA student Worship Team & some incredible volunteers decorated the Student Center & provided cookies and hot chocolate to make the venue extra festive. A wide variety of talented student performances were showcased. One student wrote & performed original song lyrics. Another sang a powerful solo rendition of Noel . There were several duets. Students were accompanied by their peers on keyboard, drum, and violin. A highlight of the evening was Mr. Platter’s rendition of “The Grinch”.

Art Notes: MS students visited the Clay Place to watch a ceramics demonstration by Mr. Jim Rice, local Naples potter. MS and HS art was showcased at the FBA Christmas Concert. 2D & 3D work included ceramic houses, drawings, paintings and 3D architectural letters. New AP Art Opportunity: FBA has been selected to submit an original acrylic painting to be juried for display at RSW airport.

Drama Notes: Rehearsals for the 2021 spring MS/HS Spring Murder Mystery and the Commons Cast are set to begin in January. Mark your calendar!
